We at The Jersey Spot like to think of our
Showcases as cyber-baseball cards that weed
through the monotony of stat lines.
Do you really
care how many walks Sammy Sosa had in 1992? No,
but you do care about his career accomplishments
and about his background and personality.
That’s the kind
of information that you’ll find in our Player
Showcases. You find out about each featured
player’s personality through quotes by and about
the athlete. You’ll see those fading in and out in
the top-left corner of each Player Showcase.

As of right now, we have fifty MLB Player
Showcases. We will be adding many more
though in the next few months, while one may be
moved over to the Throwback MLB Showcase section. Roger
Clemens is the only player on the list that is
due to retire this offseason.
We will also be
adding Player Showcases for the other three sports
in the next few months.
